16 Classy Meets Modern Side Part Haircut Ideas for Men

A side part haircut is a men’s hairstyle where the hair is parted to one side, depending on the natural growth of the hair. If you’re searching for a 5-minute hairstyle that instantly adds volume and finesse, this classic style would be your best option!

There are easily no restrictions to what type of hair can sport this look. As long as you’ve got some length and a comb, you can go for a traditional, polished version or a messy, modern finish.

It’s up to you which product to use – a wax or clay for extra texture, or a gel or hairspray for the best hold. Just a few minutes for styling in the morning will get you looking sharp for both work and a night-out.

Hollywood actors Henry Cavill, Zac Efron, and Liam Hemsworth all rocked variations of this look – see the most popular photos of a side part haircut!

An undercut is an edgy way to express style. Finesse it more by partnering it with the professional side part.

Skin Fade

Do it big with a shave really close to the scalp. The side part and the skin fade are mutually accentuated with this very contrasted mix.

How would you describe this look?

This is a zero faded side part haircut with razor-cut parting. I like that it adds a lot of structure and masculine angularity to the face and suits almost any face shape. It stays looking polished and crisp with little effort required to style.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This is a look that is quite diverse and suits all but the most conservative professionals, due to the tight fade and razored part. It’s classic with an edge.

The cut-in parting is ideal for low maintenance styling, though it will require regular barber visits to maintain.

Any product will work with this, but generally, it’s a slick look that works well with pomade or wax.

When requesting this haircut, ensure your barber leaves some weight below the parting to ensure a balanced, square shape.

How would you describe this look?

This cut is for the man who needs to be tidy and professional for work but who still wants to have some fun with his hair when it comes to time out of the office.

My favorite thing about this cut is that the length on top can be slicked back if needed, styled with some volume for a more modern look, or even left down in the face for a more textured and messy look.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I would ask my client how much maintenance they are okay with when it comes to their haircuts. Having the sides and back as short as this style shows will require maintenance every 4 weeks to keep them looking sharp!

A product with hold is also a must to keep the hair parted throughout the day. A clay or paste whether it’s shiny or matte finish will do the job! I like to blow dry the hair totally dry first, and then apply my product first in the opposite direction of the desired look, then go back and work the product into the hair in the correct direction. I’d also start applying the product closer to the crown of the head and work your way towards the front hairline, so this way you don’t end up with too much clay/pasta right at the front that causes a bad hair day!

A lot of people don’t know that having all of their hair on the top of their head saturated with a product will result in a more successful style that lasts all day long.

How would you describe this look?

This is a razor part with graduation that is not too shaved to the skin on the sides. I used an ointment with matte effect for finish and also a fixative spray.
